Carbon Monoxide Alarm
The objective was to create a compact CO alarm with a sealed battery, offering both wall-mounting and desktop placement options.
Project development launched with a foundational product architecture and component layout. The central engineering hurdle—meeting drop-test standards without traditional fasteners—necessitated the design of a high-performance snap-clip system. PCB component placement were prioritized to ensure compatibility across all alarm variants, while achieving a minimalist aesthetic by engineering the plastic casing with thinned sections for ‘dead-front’ LED illumination.
The device carries both CE and UKCA certification, fully complying with BS EN 50291-1:2008 and EN 50291-2:2019 safety standards to provide dependable carbon monoxide protection.
