This project was developed as a direct response to market research findings. While the original model featured a fixed, integrated communication module, market feedback highlighted a demand for greater versatility. The alarm was value engineered to excel as a high-performance standalone unit while offering a seamless wireless interlink option. This upgrade ensures that if one alarm detects a threat, every connected unit in the network sounds the alert, providing comprehensive property coverage.
The upgrade maintains full backwards compatibility with existing hardware, allowing the use of the original mounting bracket. Because the modifications remain within the original volume envelope, the need for any changes to the packaging specifications is avoided. Furthermore, the necessary labeling updates were implemented as a low-cost design refinement.
