Carbon Monoxide Detector – 1-yr replaceable battery

The objective was to create a compact CO alarm with 2 x replaceable AA batteries, offering both wall-mounting and desktop placement options. 

While sharing a design language with the sealed-battery model, this version required an integrated mechanical safety lockout to eliminate the risk of unpowered operation. A custom-engineered internal wire linkage was developed which detects battery presence. If the batteries are missing, the unit is mechanically prevented from sitting upright or locking into its wall mount—providing a tactile guarantee of protection.

The device carries both CE and UKCA certification, fully complying with BS EN 50291-1:2008 and EN 50291-2:2019 safety standards to provide dependable carbon monoxide protection.
